I was bullied in third grade, throughout middle school, and for the first two years of high school. Whenever I walked into a room, people tended to ignore me.

At first, I thought nothing of it; people had their own lives and conversations, and I didn't want to interrupt or "rock the boat," as some people put it. I was also very short and a little chubby, and most of the other girls were the tall, skinny type, so I thought it also had something to do with body image.

It wasn't until my Junior year of high school that I finally realized that the ignoring and the exclusion were forms of bullying. During those years, I didn't have many friends, so my Bible became my friend. If I ever felt lonely or bad about myself, I would pick up my bible and start reading.

Once I realized that I had been bullied, I started to distance myself from the toxic people in my life. I grew closer to God, and I got friends who actually cared about me and loved me for me.

The love and acceptance that I have received from God every day have helped me make it through life. I know without a doubt that no matter what happens to me or how much I change, God will love me as I am, and I can look forward to a life in eternity with him.

Bullying was the best thing to ever happen to me. It strengthened my relationship with God and allowed me to become a better version of myself.
