This is a testimony of God's multiple miracles, healing my 13-year-old son from a head injury, meningitis (brain fever), and double vision. From mid-January to mid-February 2025, my son had a chronic cold and sinusitis, which his doctor dismissed as a seasonal virus.
Then, on February 26th, while applying a tick medicine to our pet dog, he slipped and hurt his head on an iron pole. Since he didn’t feel it was very painful, he didn’t inform us, but the next day, he had a nasty swelling on his forehead. His doctor, after examining him, did not advise a scan but asked us to give him a cold compress.
After a few days, the pain became unbearable. Even though we insisted on a scan, his doctor just prescribed painkillers and said that after a few days, he would be ok. Then, at midnight, he developed a high fever, and we rushed him to a well-known hospital close by.
He was admitted, and the next day, the consulting neurosurgeon viewed the CT scan and told us there was no trauma to the brain, except for a hairline fracture in the front of the skull.
He said that it would heal on its own time, and he also showed us that his left sinus cavity was completely clogged. He advised getting treated by an ENT specialist.
The ENT specialist asked us to meet after a week to drain it out. During his time at the hospital, he was given antibiotics, but his pain was not getting any better. After a few days, he was discharged, but then, after getting home, his fever returned, and the headache was starting to get excruciating.
Then, one afternoon, my son complained of double vision and white light sensitivity. We rushed him to the same neurosurgeon. He immediately asked us to do an MRI scan, and the resulting report suggested old blood accumulation between the skull and the brain.
Going by the report, any other neurosurgeon would have told us that it may not be that serious and may resolve on its own. Our neurosurgeon was not convinced. He suspected that pus from the sinus cavity entered through the hairline fracture, and advised us to get an MRI spectroscopy of the brain and orbit.
His suspicion and fears were right. Based on his judgment, he immediately scheduled a craniotomy (skull surgery) the very next day. This was very critical, as we could not lose any time.
If we had another doctor making the wrong diagnosis, saying that surgery was not necessary, it would have proven fatal. In hindsight, we are very grateful to Jesus for this doctor’s accurate judgment.
By the grace of God, the surgery was successful, and it was followed by an ENT surgery to drain out the sinuses. It was a time of anxiety, as in any surgery that involves the brain, there could be a speech impediment, memory loss, or impairment of mobility of limbs.
Through the grace of God, all his senses were fine, but due to the infection, he had developed meningitis. We were very anxious, as meningitis is a very serious disease. The panel of pathogen and culture tests came out negative, so that was a relief.
Five days after the surgery, I attended the Sunday service at church, as my wife would be there to attend our son. Just after the service, I got a call from my wife. She mumbled that while taking my son to the bathroom, he had slipped and fallen and again hurt the left side of his forehead.
We had to do an immediate CT scan and send it to the neurosurgeon (as he was out of town). I wondered if I did the right thing by going to church at such a time, and as we wept and prayed, the surgeon called. He informed us that the scan did not indicate any new injury.
We thanked God and praised his name, because another surgery would be too risky. The timing of the second fall, right after the surgery and on the same left side of the head, felt very uncanny and strange ... something sinister and even diabolical.
After this incident, when the neurosurgeon was visiting, he noticed my son’s nose was dripping. He suspected it was CBF or brain fluid, so the ENT specialist was called and asked to examine my son.
We were so stressed. Another surgery would not be possible - it was too risky, but the Lord Jesus is a good, good God. The ENT specialist, after examining our son thoroughly, confirmed that it was just regular leaking due to the stent fixed in his right nostril as per the procedure.
It was a real relief, and we couldn't thank God enough for his mercies. He was in the hospital for a few more days (to recover from meningitis; his double vision improved as the meningitis or brain swelling subsided).
The ophthalmologist consultation was another miracle from God. The earliest MRI orbit scan compared to the later eye scans showed much improvement, as the papilledema (or swelling in the eye) had subsided, and the brain swelling had gone down.
After being discharged from the hospital, my son still had IV antibiotics at home, and his low-grade fever came back again. Then, after the periodical blood test, when we thought our ordeal was over, we got a call from the hospital that his blood count had dropped, including his neutrophils.
We were at our wits’ end, as the pediatrician from the hospital was traveling due to the long weekend. We took a call immediately after looking at his blood count and admitted him to a pediatric hospital. The next day, we were called to the counseling room and informed that they would be doing a bone marrow biopsy.
It was like a bolt out of the blue. First, the skull surgery, and now this; my wife and I were both at the end of our rope. The next three days, I was really anxious, just like anyone would be. We had everyone pray for our child, so many of them, family and friends.
I fasted and fervently prayed. I wrestled with God in prayer until he would bless and heal my son, like Jacob, who wrestled with God till he would bless him. Then, during this same time, my mother called and mentioned that she spoke to someone who, through a word of prophecy, mentioned the name of a person who had done some kind of witchcraft on my family.
When I heard the name, I had goosebumps, because it was a manager who worked for me. I had asked him to quit because of repeated complaints about his drinking and quarreling on the job. I wasn’t at all surprised to hear his name. This was the first time I heard a prophecy that was so accurate.
This prophecy strengthened my faith, and with faith I claimed the promise of healing by the blood of Jesus for my child. By evening, the oncologist, along with the other doctors, walked into our room and mentioned that everything was fine in the bone marrow biopsy and there was nothing to worry about. They said my son could be discharged the next day.
By God's grace, the fever completely stopped, and after being discharged, the blood count was also normal. I can’t tell you the agony and mental stress we had to go through that month, but the Lord Jesus, due to his infinite grace and mercy, heard our prayers and healed and restored my son. His double vision has also healed 90%, and the doctors are hopeful that in a month or two, his double vision will be resolved completely.
A million praises and thanks to Jesus. Amen.
