I had always been raised as a Christian. However, as I grew older, I distanced myself from the Lord.
When I was just 17, I found out I was pregnant. I was terrified, and I was going to be a single mom. However, I grew to have a better relationship with God, and I loved my unborn son.
One night, a week or so before my due date, my water broke. My mom rushed me to the hospital. I cannot remember any house or sign that stood out except for one. In the dark, I saw a white sign on the side of the road. It said, “Put your faith in God.”
Long story short, I couldn't give birth naturally, and my blood pressure was dangerously low. My son's heartbeat was practically nonexistent. I could feel myself dying. The doctor was terrified.
They rushed me in for an emergency C-section. I was so young and scared. Right before I was put to sleep, instead of counting down, I told God, "I put my faith in you."
I woke up alive. I didn't get to hold my son because the nurses told me he couldn't breathe on his own. They could barely feed him because the oxygen would come off every time. A children’s hospital an hour or so away had better treatment that could keep him alive, so with tears in my eyes, I agreed.
He left, and that entire night, I stayed up crying and praying to God to save my son. I called later that very night, and the nurse told me that miraculously, he no longer even needed oxygen. He was perfectly healthy.
God is real, and he saved both my life and my sons.
